I sometimes give salsa dancing lessons to the team after work!
It’s the country where this whole crazy idea started.
Ricky and I met in our hometown in Spain and worked together, then we met again in London. While living in the UK, we realized that it was very difficult for us to send money to our families back in Spain. We had to do something to solve this problem, so we packed our backpacks and flew to Asia with a few developers to start our adventure together.
The reason why we moved to Thailand was because we thought it would be cheaper to build a banking app there.
We flew from Spain to Bangkok with just our backpacks and a crazy idea.
What do you like about working at sync.?
I love the fact that I’m part of an innovative product that helps our users in their daily lives. We’re changing how customers interact with and manage their money.
What is the team like? How do they support you?
The team is another reason why I love working at sync. We’re one big family, we’re all enthusiastic, positive and we support each other in whatever needs to be done.
How would you define the sync. work culture in 3 words?
Passionate. Transparent. Innovative.
How do people show you that they respect you, your ideas and expertise?
At sync. we all fight for a common goal: to deliver an outstanding product and customer experience. We respect each other’s roles, discuss everyone’s ideas and most importantly we listen to each other. This is what makes us different from many other companies.
What is the most exciting part of your role at sync?
Knowing that I’m part of something big that could change the way our users view banking.
Tell us a bit about your experience as a co-founder in an industry dominated by men.
As Co-Founder, I have been in sync. since the very beginning. We have always been a team full of strong, intelligent women. Finance and tech are male-dominated industries, but we are showing that a Start-Up led by women can also be powerful and dominate the FinTech world.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a career in your industry?
I would tell them to follow their heart.
Be truly loyal and committed to their passions. It is the only way to make their career, not just a job, but a lifestyle. We spend most of our time working, why not enjoy it? You need to make sure your ideas are heard but don’t be afraid to fail and learn from your mistakes. Use them to better understand your product. And last but not least, I believe that everyone is an entrepreneur in their fields.
Let’s make a difference.
