How did you join sync.?
I joined sync when we had less than 10 people. I remember the interview process happening very quickly. I met up with the CEO and CIO for a catch up about the role and company. I completed a take-home design challenge, and a few days later was offered the job.
What is the best thing about being a UX/UI designer?
I love being able to help solve important problems that will hopefully change someone’s life for the better.
What do you think makes a good UX/UI design?
When the design is intuitive and delightful.
What are your most sacred design principles?
Listen to our users’ needs.
What sync. feature do you find most helpful?
I love having multiple currencies. I recently moved back to Australia, it’s been so helpful to be able to hold and spend in GBP, AUD and EUR.
How would you define the sync. work culture in 3 words?
Innovative, fun and inclusive.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a career as a UX/UI designer?
The most important aspect of UX/UI design is the ability to understand who we are designing for. Don’t worry too much about learning every design software in the market.
How do you deal with working in a male-dominated field?
I try not to think about the fact that it is male-dominated but instead I try to get to know who I’m working with through their personality and working styles.
